Membership Reward Terminal

Concept : The Foyer Machine promotional system is based on the concept of reward for member patronage. The overall effect of the system is the promotion of a higher profile for the club and increased revenue. Prizes and prize structure are determined by the club. An example system can be found at the end of this guide as a means of demonstrating the flexibility of the system.

Operating Environment: The system can be operated in a “stand-alone” mode and is also compatible with most major network operating systems.

Membership Cards: Members are issued with plastic magnetic-encoded membership cards. These cards are used by members to test their eligibility for prizes by swiping their membership card in a card-reader connected to the Foyer Machine. The Foyer Machine continuously displays random graphic images on a LCD colour screen. Up to 255 Foyer Machines can be maintained and operated simultaneously.

Member Access to the System:When a member swipes their membership card in the Foyer Machine card-reader, the LCD display will show whether a prize has been won or not. The display is also accompanied by appropriate sounds (including speech and/or music). If a prize is won, up to 5 options can be made available for prize nomination. These options are displayed on the screen together with a number.

Prize Selection and Redemption: Depending on the type and value of the prize won, the corresponding number of buttons will be available on the screen, from which the member can select a prize. Once the selected button has been depressed, a graphic depicting the prize will be displayed on the screen and a prize voucher is printed. If the prize awarded is a single-choice prize, the prize voucher will be printed immediately and no panel selection will be available. The member then takes the prize voucher to the appropriate redemption point for collection. When the prize voucher is presented, club staff access the Foyer Machine via computer terminal to validate the prize by checking the validation number printed on the ticket with the number displayed on the computer terminal.

Other Features:Optional features have been incorporated which allow the club to issue prizes for special events such as member birthdays. A “second-chance” draw can also be set up for a specified period, allowing members to participate in a lottery for special “one-off” prizes, by depositing their vouchers in a “second-chance” draw barrel.

Interface with Other Systems: The Foyer Machine can also be connected to other systems and areas in the club and track member patronage. This information can be incorporated with the Foyer Machine data to influence the type and value of prize that a member may be eligible for. For example, details of member usage of poker machines, bistro, take-away liquor sales and so on can be linked into the Foyer Machine database. Foyer Machine data can also be analysed and graphically displayed with mapping tools to provide demographic information about membership distribution.
